      One Direction are an English-Irish boy band consisting of members Niall Horan, Zayn Malik, Liam Payne, Harry Styles and Louis Tomlinson. The band signed to Simon Cowell's record label Syco Records after being formed and placing third in the seventh series ofThe X Factor. In November 2011, One Direction released their debut album Up All Night, which became the fastest-selling debut album in the UK of 2011. In 2012, it debuted at number one on the U.S. Billboard 200, making One Direction the first UK group in history to debut at number one with their first album in the country. Up All Night spawned the Official UK Singles Chart top ten singles — "What Makes You Beautiful", "Gotta Be You", and "One Thing". In 2012, "What Makes You Beautiful" won the BRIT Award for Best British Single.

4. Teen Choice Awards 2012: Choice Music: Breakout Group, Choice Summer Music Star: Group and Choice Music: Love Song.

5. NME Awards 2012: Worst Band

6. Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards UK 2012: Favorite UK Band and Favorite UK Newcomer.

7. Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards Mexico 2012: International Artist and Favorite Song.

8. Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards Brazil 2012: Favorite International Artist.

9. Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards Argentina 2012: Favorite Song.

10. MTV Video Music Awards 2012: Best New Artist, Best Pop Video and Most Share-Worthy Video.

11. MTV Video Music Awards Brazil 2012: Best New Act, Best UK & Ireland Act and Biggest Fans.

12. MTV Europe Music Awards 2012: Best New Act, Best UK & Ireland Act and Biggest Fans.

13. JIM Awards 2012: Best Newcomer - International.

So in total 56 nominations, they boys won 32 awards ;) xx
